Really funny moments on Twitter this morning. Baldwin’s wife, who goes by “Hilaria” even though her real name is “Hillary” has been caught faking being Spanish this entire time.
Apparently, the Baldwins have a stalker who brought forth evidence of Hilaria faking an accent while she’s been getting interviews in Latina Magazine and the like for over a decade. Included in the clip are a bunch of bad grammar mistakes in Spanish.
As an actual Spanish person, I’ve taken a lot of flak in the sci-fi author community for not having an accent and not pretending to speak the language, like I’m somehow obligated to do so. But I was born and raised in California, so I don’t need to fake it.
I’ll still be a much more leading Hispanic voice than Hilaria will ever be.
