Some days it’s hard to find a blog topic, especially when the political noise is cluttering everything and making it very hard to focus on cultural items, but the lesson of all of it is — a lot of things are out of our control and we just have to keep working on what we need to work on and not let anything distract us.
It’s been a hard lesson during coronavirus times, easy to make excuses for not getting work done. Even I’ve suffered from it. People think my output is high but I’m running at about 1/4 of what I should actually be doing if I were just getting the work done I needed to.
It’s the reality of things now, but we can’t let stuff distract us. I need to work harder to turn off news feeds as well in 2021 with an ambitious goal to put out at least The Stars Rejoined (Aryshan Wars Book 3), The Crystal Conspiracy (Von Monocle Book 5), and a fantasy trilogy I’m co-writing with Morgon Newquist where we’ve finished book 1 in addition to all of my other goals.
This is on top of the comic output, so it’s going to be a year to buckle down.
We’re on the precipice of major cultural revolution. People are done with the corporate properties which have failed them with their soulless art too many times. It will grow like mad in 2021, we just have to give the readers a reason for it to.
