After the fraudulent election, I turned off all news. I cut cable (long overdue), and then stopped going to my regular internet news sources. I still peruse the chans periodically, but for the most part I’m not waking up and paying attention to any national or international affairs.
I have to say, this is a lifestyle change I recommend to everyone. You can’t do anything. Your vote literally doesn’t count. There is no opposition leadership to what’s going on. The corporations do not speak for you nor are they interested in your well being. Nor is the government. So why bother yourself?
The result for me has been having a lot more fun. I’m not stressed. I’m not losing sleep. I’m not getting mad at the internet. It’s a new dawn which is allowing me to focus on arts even more, and have fun with the family. It’s been great getting that out of my headspace.
And if you think about it, this is the most based thing you can do to get out of these cycles. If you don’t watch their content, don’t care nor talk about the topics they want you hyperventilating about, they have no mind control over you.
Something to think about.

I completely agree.
I haven’t really watched the news in many years and it’s been good, but I still paid attention to headlines. After the faux-inauguration, I have tuned out even more and it has been better.
Turn it off, and tune out the cycle. It’s the single best thing you can do for your mental health.
