Mags Visaggio has been on a tear using cynical marketing tactics to push his writing career in front of executives like Zack Snyder, which landed a gig writing the Rebel Moon comic. There’s been more to Mags’ agitating comic fans. However, before that announcement, he unveiled a pitch to make a trans-Superboy for DC Comics. Now, Mags Visaggio says he has a new writing job that will trans a popular comic book character.
Visaggio became prominent several years ago with a book titled Vagrant Queen, mainly gaining fame because the YouTube channel Diversity & Comics would criticize his work and his woke, hot takes on Twitter. Over the years, Visaggio has failed to get much further in his career after the SyFy adaptation flopped with poor ratings resulting in it getting canceled after one season.
The embattled comic writer is known for upsetting the comic-reading customer base on X and then using the attention to beg for money via GoFundMe or CashApp. The most recent attempt by Mags Visaggio to get paid for his victim game included a plea that he couldn’t pay his rent.

Visaggio has also recently attacked popular comics writer Mark Millar, as Millar was getting attention because of his defense of a comic shop owner who had problems selling comics from newer writers like Mags, who place self-inserts into books rather than honor fan-favorite characters.
In the latest attempt to get some publicity, the Rebel Moon comic writer promises to turn a popular intellectual property character trans. “I’m writing one of my all-time favorite IPs for a book dropping next year and just I wish SO HARD I could tell you. It’s an incredibly unexpected license and they’re letting me break and rebuild it. yes, I transed a beloved character no backsies,” Visaggio tweeted.
He followed up with more attempts to poke fans, “Hahaha omg y’all are being so dramatic when you see it you’ll realize how zero a big deal this is, you’ll just go ooooooh that’s all?”
The announcement received backlash from comic readers, which seemed to be Visaggio’s post’s intention, given the creator’s flippant attitude on the matter. Dozens of comic readers voiced their disapproval at Visaggio taking other people’s work and making official fan fiction, turning it into a transgender virtue signal.
Visaggio tweeted again on the topic, stating, “you dont even know what the IP is it’s the gayest shit in the world its famously gay.” The poor grammar in these tweets is the way Visaggio presented them.
Why a writer would intentionally produce work that won’t sell and will upset fans is unclear. It seems like mentally ill people like Mags Visaggio want to torpedo the comic book industry. This constant provoking of readers is a liability to people like Zack Snyder, whose Rebel Moon is now tarnished with Visaggio’s incessant trolling of people who might be interested in the property.
Visaggio’s work-for-hire jobs are few and far between, however. It seems editors understand their liability with such comic fan agitation. Still, someone has given him a property to be able to turn trans.
