The entire quest in the movie revolves around finding the answer to the ultimate question of life, the universe, and everything. In an intense moment, attempting to survive a pair of missiles headed for their ship; the crew activates the improbability drive– And to everyone’s surprise the fictional device answers the prayers of our protagonists with the creation of a sperm whale and a bowl of petunias (notably not that surprised about the situation. Mostly annoyed.) out of thin air. Still a quote worthy scene of WTF!

Marvin the Depressed Android is a character with a perpetually bummed and gloomy outlook. Voiced by the late Alan Rickman, the character stands out against his colorful crewmates, as such most of his interactions with the crew are truly WTF Moments.

The scene where the Vogons, known for their bureaucratic and unpleasant nature, subject Arthur Dent and Ford Prefect to a torture worse than death: reading Vogon poetry. “Ode to a Small Lump of Green Putty I Found in My Armpit One Midsummer Morning” The absurdity and monotony of the poetry make it a truly WTF moment.

The film, directed by Garth Jennings, brought to life a series of WTF moments that perfectly encapsulate the peculiar charm of the source material.
