On January 17, Crunchyroll notified Sportskeeda via email that they had announced the nominees for their eighth annual Crunchyroll Anime Awards. They also revealed the star-studded lineup of presenters, which included Megan Thee Stallion, LiSA, Iman Vellani, and others.
In its second year, Tokyo, Japan will host the event. The hosts and international presenters of the event will unveil several fan-favorite awards during the pre-show. The nominees for the 25 categories up for grabs at the 2024 Anime Awards were revealed by Crunchyroll. The goal of the award program is to honor the artists and creators of Japanese animation, as well as performers on various platforms and musicians.

The hosts for the show include:
- Iman Vellani: MS. MARVEL actress and a member of THE MARVELS
- LiSA: Japanese singer-songwriter known for her performances of popular anime theme songs, including those for Sword Art Online, Demon Slayer, and other shows
- ROLAND: TV personality, businessman, and nightclub host from Japan.
- Aquaria: American fashion model, drag entertainer, and international DJ who was crowned the winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 10.
- Che Lingo: Rapper and musician; renowned for his frequent genre blending.
- Aquaria was named RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 10 winner.
- Che Lingo,Rapper and musician;a British native, is renowned for his frequent genre blending.
- Lena Lemon is a creator well-known for her video games, cosplay, and anime.
- Yaeji is a producer, artist, DJ, and vocalist whose dance-friendly music has made her a household name worldwide.
- Singer Ylona Garcia was raised in Australia after being born in the Philippines.

Crunchyroll announced its award nominees as well as the star-studded lineup of presenters for the Anime Awards’ live ceremony and pre-show on Wednesday, January 17.

Kenichiro Yoshida, Chairman and CEO of Sony Group Corporation will also return to the event to deliver his opening remarks at the Anime Awards live ceremony. The live ceremony will hosted by voice actress Sally Amaki and entertainer Jon Kabira.
Megan Thee Stallion expressed her excitement about heading to Tokyo to celebrate and honor the world’s top anime creators and shows, after receiving an invitation to attend and present an award at the 2024 Anime Awards.
“One of my favorite pastimes is watching anime! I enjoy telling stories, drawing inspiration from the various anime art forms, and cosplaying as all of my favorite characters.”
The voting period for the Anime Awards began on January 17 and will be open through January 27, 2024, at 11:59 PM Pacific Time. Fans are encouraged to vote every day to cheer their favorites to the top spot. The results will be announced at the 2024 Anime Awards live ceremony on Saturday, March 2, and through a global fan live stream.
