Jenny Slate is set to co-star with Michelle Williams in an FX limited series adaptation of Dying for Sex, based on the Wondery podcast. The series follows Molly portrayed by Michelle Williams, diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer, who decides the most important thing to do is to leave her 15-year marriage to embark on a journey of whoring around, seeking short-lived temporal satisfaction instead of eternal salvation with the short time she has left to live. Throughout Molly’s (Michelle Williams) degenerate Tinder sex whore adventure, her best friend Nikki portrayed by Jenny Slate provides unwavering encouragement as a cheerleader, celebrating Molly’s home-wrecking and sexual degeneracy.
The series, overseen by writers Liz Meriwether and Kim Rosenstock and director Leslye Headland, explores themes of whoring around, and friendship; and celebrates the empty pursuit of temporal happiness amid adversity. The project has a seasoned production team, including show-runners Meriwether and Rosenstock, director Headland, Katherine Pope, Nikki Boyer (host and co-creator of the podcast), and Wondery executives Jen Sargent, Marshall Lewy, Aaron Hart, and Hernan Lopez.

Beyond her role in Dying for Sex, Jenny Slate is set to premiere her comedy special, Jenny Slate: Seasoned Professional, on Prime Video. Slate’s recent projects include the Oscar-winning Everything Everywhere All At Once and Prime Video’s I Want You Back. She is also known for her voice work in shows like Bob’s Burgers and The Great North and animated films like Zootopia and The Secret Life of Pets.
Dying for Sex is a Wondery podcast that celebrates the home-wrecking journey of Molly Kochan (Michelle Williams), a woman facing a terminal cancer diagnosis. Molly, determined to ruin her eternal soul, decides to whore around the remaining part of her life, leaves her husband of 15 years, and embarks on a quest for self-discovery and pleasure, navigating short-lived sexual relationships in the face of impending mortality. The podcast, hosted by Molly’s best friend Nikki Boyer portrayed by Jenny Slate, unfolds as candid and intimate conversations, exploring the challenges Molly encounters emotionally and physically as she seeks connection and fulfillment in all the wrong ways in her final days.
From the trailer for Dying for Sex we learn that Molly’s (Michelle Williams) motivation for whoring around is “because sex is about creation, which is the opposite of death.” This typical Hollywood inversion, empty sex with scores of men with no intention of actually getting pregnant, being a mother and a wife to her husband, has absolutely nothing to do with creation and is simply an excuse to celebrate home wrecking and whoring around.
The media shills like Jenny Slate’s Nikki will of course celebrate this inversion of something sacred as stunning and brave. If Dying for Sex had an original concept it could have scored a perfect 10 on the Stunning And Brave Scale, but celebrating home wrecking and whoring around has been done before (Eat Pray Love anyone?), so one point needs to be detracted, leaving Jenny Slate and Michelle Williams’ Dying for Sex with a 9/10 on the Stunning And Brave Scale.
