Rumours are doing the rounds that negotiations have been finalised for the main cast of Marvel Studios’ upcoming Fantastic Four film, including casting a possible sex swapped Silver Surfer and Galactus as a possible villain. An official announcement is expected soon regarding the actors portraying Reed Richards, Sue Storm, Ben Grimm, and Johnny Storm.
As of now, only one actor has been mentioned as likely signing on – Pedro Pascal for the role of Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic. Speculation has also surfaced, suggesting Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm/The Invisible Woman, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm/Human Torch, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm/The Thing in the next Fantastic Four, including speculation about a sex-swapped Silver Surfer and Galactus as a possible villain.
In recent months, rumours have circulated about other potential castings, including Javier Bardem as the cosmic character Galactus and Anya Taylor-Joy in a brave and stunning move as a sex-swapped Silver Surfer, his silver-skinned herald. If the M-She-U is going to insist on an even more female-dominated universe, they really could just leave The Silver Surfer alone and instead cast Anya Taylor-Joy as Juno, the galactic surfer created by Bob Layton and Ron Lim who made her first appearance in Hercules: Twilight of a God #1 (June, 2010).
There was significant buzz when Mila Kunis was spotted meeting with director Matt Shakman, leading to speculation that she might play a gender-swapped Thing. However, she denied these rumours, although the possibility of her being cast as Sharon Ventura, a character resembling The Thing, cannot be ruled out. The studio is rumoured to be exploring a romantic angle between the characters. The rumour about a sex-swapped Silver Surfer has not been laid to rest yet.

Kevin Feige has confirmed that the reboot will not be another origin story. Rumours suggest that Reed Richards and Sue Storm will be portrayed in their middle age, serving as parents to two children. According to comic lore, these children, Valeria and Franklin, possess abilities that could significantly impact the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Valeria is portrayed as smarter than her father Reed, while Franklin is an Omega Level mutant with reality-bending powers. There were also rumours that Marvel plans to bring back Doctor Victor Von Doom as a major antagonist in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
