Yellowflash 2 Says Madame Web Set To Dethrone The Marvels As Worst Performing Marvel Movie And Dakota Johnson Fired Her Agents

Yellowflash 2 says that despite Sony hoping that fans will get excited to go see Madame Web, early indications are worrying as he spotted photos on X of empty pre-booking websites. At this rate, Madame Web may just beat The Marvels to be the worst-performing Marvel movie yet.

The Marvels premiered on November 10, but its domestic opening of $46 million marked the M-She-U’s weakest debut to date. Disappointingly, its fortunes only worsened from there. The film suffered a staggering 78% decline in ticket sales during its second weekend, solidifying its status with another unwanted accolade: the steepest second-weekend drop in the series’ history.

This downward spiral spelled an early conclusion to The Marvels theatrical run, surpassing even the underwhelming performance of 2008’s The Incredible Hulk ($264 million, unadjusted for inflation) as the lowest-grossing installment in the MCU. Notably, The Marvels also became the inaugural Marvel film to fall short of the $100 million mark domestically, highlighting the sequel’s inability to even come close to matching the opening weekend success of its predecessor, 2019’s Captain Marvel ($153 million debut).

By its fourth week in theatres, the once highly anticipated comic book blockbuster had lost significant momentum, accumulating a mere $80 million in North America and $197 million globally.

The mantle of the worst-performing Marvel movie may just be taken over by Madame Web. YouTuber Yellowflash 2 has noticed photos of pre-bookings for Madame Web being posted online, and it doesn’t look good: “Sony is hoping you’ll get excited to go see Madame Web. Well, they’re hoping you will be, but I don’t think anybody wants to see this.”

Posting not just one such photo, Yellowflash believes that this lackluster pre-booking trend will set the tone for the box office performance of Madame Web. But it’s still pretty clear no one’s going to see this. You got one guy here, that’s it, and that’s not the only one. There’s also this one this guy says the same. The tracking for this movie [Madame Web] has it making less than Morbius, which is pretty pathetic. My guess, though, is that this movie is going to be a catastrophic flop.”

Sony clearly is nervous, and so is Madam Web star Dakota Johnson whose cringe shilling, comparison of stunt work to that of Tom Cruise and ‘foot-in-the-mouth’ opinion that Madame Web is like it was written by AI. In fact, Dakota Johnson appears herself to be very unhappy with Madame Web. A Variety interview hinted at potential dissatisfaction from Dakota Johnson regarding her involvement with Madame Web. Her notable move from WME to CAA in November, shortly after the release of a first trailer, sparked speculation within the industry. Johnson’s comments during a recent ‘SNL’ monologue, where she likened the film to “if AI generated your boyfriend’s perfect movie,” added fuel to the fire.
