A few months ago, an image went viral from a recent X-Men comic showing a birthing scene of Nightcrawler looking like he was popping out of the rear end of the lesbian mutant Destiny. Fans mocked the panel profusely across the internet, as others became outraged at the retcon of Mystique from being Nightcrawler’s mother to being some trans allegory of Nightcrawler’s father via shapeshifting into a man to impregnate Destiny. Once again, identity politics ruined a Marvel character in Nightcrawler. Now, they’re pushing X-Men even further for Pride Month.
New solicits for Pride Month featuring X-Men: The Wedding Special #1. While usually, one would have a special to celebrate heroes. This one features the villain Mystique having a homosexual ceremony, mocking the Christian concept of marriage by performing the ceremony with her lesbian partner, Destiny.
The solicit is as follows:
X-MEN: THE WEDDING SPECIAL #1
KIERON GILLEN, YOON HA LEE, M. LOUIS & MORE! (W) • TBA (A) • COVER BY JAN BAZALDUA
VARIANT COVER BY RUSSELL DAUTERMAN

WEDDING EXTRAVAGANZA! Mystique and Destiny are one of the most beloved – and longest running – gay couples in history. Somewhere in their 100+ years together, the pair married, but we’ve never seen the event on the page. This year MARVEL’S VOICES: PRIDE makes history with Marvel’s first woman-to-woman wedding in a story by superstar X-Men scribe Kieron Gillen! And with a couple as complex as these two, you know there’s a lot more to the story.
We promise party crashing! Villainy! Romance! In the classic tradition of FANTASTIC FOUR ANNUAL #3 and X-MEN #30, this anthology will be a must-read for every comics fan. Featuring the Marvel debuts of award-winning writers Yoon Ha Lee (Ninefox Gambit, Machineries of Empire) and M. Louis (Agents of the Realm), and much more talent to be announced! 88 PAGES/ONE-SHOT/RATED T+…$9.99
Like usual for woke products, it has to be a “first” to pretend that somehow they are breaking ground with what they’re doing, and since there have already been multiple gay weddings in Marvel Comics, this is the first “woman-to-woman wedding in a story by Kieron Gillen.” Not only is it not the first lesbian wedding they’re portraying, but it’s only the first by this specific writer to try to make this an “event.”
Marvel Comics even has to pretend this is somehow in a “tradition” of “classic” wedding stories to further gaslight fans that there is anything traditional about a modern ceremony celebrating sin.
However, the most insulting part of the cover revealed is the image of Nightcrawler officiating the mockery of a wedding. Nightcrawler is a Catholic priest, and according to the Catechism of the Catholic Church, sexual activity between members of the same sex is considered to be a grave sin against chastity, and homosexual attraction is considered to be objectively disordered.
Therefore, it is wholly against Nightcrawler’s vows as a Catholic priest to uphold God’s law to perform such a ceremony. It would be out of character for a Christian character. Still, Marvel Comics never seems to be able to portray Christian characters or give them adequate representation as they do for groups of certain skin colors or sexual fetishes. The solicitation is further anti-Christian bigotry by Marvel Comics.
Ironically, Mystique is one of the X-Men’s greatest villains, yet they are trying to celebrate “pride,” which is also sinful. The mask always comes off with the woke that they’re attempting to invert morality and push what is evil as what is good, and Marvel Comics has further fallen into this trap with Mystique and Nightcrawler.
What do you think of Nightcrawler performing Mystique and Destiny’s wedding in X-men? Is Marvel Comics out of their minds? Leave a comment and let us know.
Mike Lorber - The Comic Relief Crusader says
As a Christian (not Catholic) It’s insulting as it is. However, the POPE said it was ok, so I would have the header say “Marvel Comics Insults Catholics By Having Catholic Priest Nightcrawler Perform Gay Wedding of Mystique And Destiny” as Catholics should be questioning their “leadership”. The Pope isn’t God and for him, I would be EXTREMELY CAREFUL presuming that you can override the authority of the ALMIGHTY!
Christians are not Catholic, but Catholics can be Christians.
Jon Del Arroz says
The pope did not say that. It’s fake news mistranslated and twisted by the mainstream media.
Tony says
Someone at Marvel, clearly hates Catholics. I happen to be Catholic myself. Marvel is run by people who relate to villains.
Bianca Fights The Zombies says
He looks like he is living well with AIDS
Chuck Jose says
Both Marvel and DC hate Christians. That’s what happens when you’re so Woke.
Pox says
This article is inaccurate. Nightcrawler is not an ordained priest. He thought he trained as one but it was a ruse. Kurt never picked up the training again. He is not ordained.
