X-Men ’97 has been under fire from fans for their making identity politics decisions in the designs which are ruining beloved characters. The show is going to release on Disney+ as a continuation of the original animated series. Now, Marvel Studios has unveiled they will be releasing a preview comic on March 27th which will lead into the show. However, fans note that they’ve made design changes to Storm to make the character into a gender-bending, more masculine figure.
Disney+ can’t seem to get anything right when it comes to Marvel. The most recent offerings of the MCU have veered further into the “put a chick in it and make it lame and gay” meme which appeared last year after South Park mocked Kathleen Kennedy. With Echo, Disney+ seemed to hit a new low for identity politics with there being nothing to the show other than to point out how the lead was disabled and indigenous repeatedly. However, X-men ’97 seems to make matters worse.
First, an X-Men ’97 producer unveiled that the character Morph, a shapeshifter in the original show, would be changed to be non-binary in an attempt to push the trans agenda further. This isn’t unusual for Marvel who’s been doing the same with Mystique for years in the comics, going so far as to change Mystique to be a father of Nightcrawler instead of the mother. This change to X-Men ’97 with Morph was pushed further as it revealed the voice actor for the Disney+ show is a homosexual activist in the industry.

Next, X-Men ’97 fans complained about design changes to Rogue. In Marvel, Rogue was a heartthrob character, but now she’s been de-curved to appear more androgynous, with YouTube commentators noting that the character now has a “uniboob.”
Now, Disney+ has tarnished the image of yet another character in the show as Storm is shown to be wearing what appears to be a men’s suit with a short haircut in a Marvel preview image in order to make the character look more masculine.
Marvel revealed the X-Men ’97 image on its Marvel.com in a preview page for an upcoming prelude comic to the Disney+ show.

“Created in collaboration with the showrunners, the comic series will show what these characters have been up to in the time before their return. Don’t miss the startling revelations that will lead directly into the hotly anticipated new Disney+ series!”
The press release also brags about Storm’s change in appearance for the Disney+ X-Men ’97 show, ending the teaser of the comic with, “Finally, Storm shows off her new look for Jubilee.”
The new look seems intended to push gender-bending on X-Men ’97 even beyond what we’ve seen with Morph and Rogue. Disney+ Marvel shows have pushed the boundaries of identity politics and sexuality to new lows with each series, and this Marvel animated show appears to be no different in what they’re trying to do.
Fans can only hope that Marvel won’t retcon Storm to be gay for X-Men ’97 in a final insult to people who enjoyed the original cartoon.

The mohawk is from the mid to late 80’s character design. The pantsuit? Well, they’re afraid of showing a woman in anything even slightly revealing. So she has to be covered up from head to toe.
joe says
she wears a pant suit in the first episode of the 90s show. it was considered very IN back in the 90s to dress like this. and since the show does take place back in the 90s, of course they’d have her in one.
Jerry Smith says
The leftist entertainment industry hates masculinity. They hate femininity. They won’t be satisfied until all characters (and people) are just unisex drones with no distinguishing characteristics and everyone is non-binary (whatever that means). I’ll watch my X-Men ’97 DVDs and ignore this woke crap featuring unipeople, thank you.
Ray H says
you mean the original cartoon that HAD STORM IN A SUIT? And also showed her with the mohawk?
Bianca Fights The Zombies says
Gay gay gay and retarded. Everyone has AIDS.
JJChandler says
That’s literally Storm from the 1980s under Chris Claremont’s time on the book. The pantsuit was popular in the 90s when this is set, and Storm wore one in the 90s cartoon. So, this is 100% accurate to the comic and the original 90s cartoon- two things you lot have obviously never seen.
Tony says
X-Man ‘97 is exactly the type of product that South Park was making fun of.
JJChandler says
How exactly? The mohawk Storm is literally out of the comic book during Chris Claremont’s run. Storm wore a similar pantsuit in episodes of the 90s cartoon as they were popular back then and this is set in that time period.
So far, this seems to be a comic accurate portrayal of Storm that’s also accurate to the 90s cartoon. Have you never seen either they comic or the cartoon from back then?
JimBobBubbaRay says
But on the cover, she’s the curviest woman of the bunch.
Just seems like that’s a way that Storm likely would have looked sometime in the 80’s or early 90’s. It’s like she’s getting over her angsty punk phase and evolving into girl boss mode.
If you grew up reading X-Men from the 80’s and early 90’s, this look probably wouldn’t bother you much unless you were a huge fan of the whole punk outfit era Storm and would have rather they went with that design instead.
I’m usually quick to crap on Marvel, but I don’t have an issue with this at all. Other than the pantsuit fashion fad being lame, obviously.
HAJ says
If you think think an attractive woman with a Mohawk and a suit (which looks pretty stylish btw. Storm had a Mohawk in the 80’s and women with suits have been a thing since the 90’s) makes you feel uncomfortable you’re either walking on tip toes, have a restraining order from your ex wife or you are confused about your own sexuality aka very homosexual
Dagoth Ur says
Wendy O Williams wore a Mohawk better.
Storm’s sudden one, looks not like a mohawk or deathhawk etc; but more like a Karen haircut not out of place in the ‘Q’ part of that 5 letter acronym. It’s not absolutely terrible, but not great.
Why so dumb? says
So, what you’re saying is you never actually saw the 90’s cartoon or read X-men comics before. Got it. You also don’t understand Stan Lee’s use of superheroes to comment on societal forms of discrimination and racism. Ok.
VM says
Wow ignorant clickbait to rile up the casuals and neck beards that don’t actually know what they’re talking about, kinda like the author of this article, 0/10 do not recommend this bs excuse for a “news” outlet
Dagoth Ur says
Communist cultural infection is destroying most Western mediums. It hates biological females and removes femininity in lieu of ambiguous non-feminine characters. Look what they did to Rogue. This is for trans women (men who have transitioned to women).
Vile regime, from vile Disney. They cannot make something new that better represent the people they want to milk money off of who won’t buy their product anyhow. They can only warp existing media that people with brains have created before them. And will continue to attempt this until they go bankrupt or all biological women have been snubbed out in some form. These people must hate their own mother’s.
Riva says
Who on earth doesn’t know about storm and the famous mohawk hairstyle back in the 80s? It’s clear you don’t know what you are talking about. Probably never watched the cartoon or picked up a comic.
Pathetic click bait article.
