Disney dropped the first trailer to Star Wars: The Acolyte, an already embattled Disney+ show with a lot of controversy surrounding the direction of Kathleen Kennedy’s recent moves on Star Wars. Though showrunner Leslye Headland is hyping The Acolyte, too many have no faith in the creative team. Fan reaction has been tepid to what they’ve seen, as it appears to be another instance of South Park’s poignant “put a chick in it and make it lame and gay” criticism, which has become a meme.
Leslye Headland has come out and done the typical Hollywood way of describing work, calling it “Frozen meets Kill Bill,” an odd way to pitch Star Wars as it shouldn’t be like some other random works; it should, in theory, feel like Star Wars.
In yet another prequel, the The Acolyte trailer opens with the Jedi Temple on Coruscant with Jedi training. For further nostalgia bait, it then cuts between a scene reminiscent of the original cantina with a robed person walking in the street.
It then goes to a bunch of mash-up scenes after someone says, “Someone is killing the Jedi,” and we see a smatter of diversity, like usual from Kathleen Kennedy’s Star Wars films. Naturally, the black woman is doing all of these flips and acrobatics, which attempts to make her look more impressive than the other Jedi in Star Wars: The Acolyte.

Taking place during the High Republic era, Star Wars: The Acolyte appears to be building upon the new books and comics that have been released over the last several years. Disney even hired race-baiting writer Justina Ireland, who has made her entire career over shaking down YA Authors and canceling people over race, to write novels for their new diversity-ridden initiative.
Fans were not impressed with the trailer. Gary Buechler, Nerdrotic, said, “The Marvels meets The Eternals. With more diverse lesbians,” in reaction to the The Acolyte.
The Critical Drinker was also not impressed with Star Wars: The Acolyte’s showrunner’s comments saying, “That description literally makes no sense.”
Yellowflash 2 speculated that Star Wars: The Acolyte would go in an even more ridiculous direction, saying “A lesbian revenge musical?”
Based on Leslye Headland’s prior comments, the reactions to Disney and The Acolyte may not be too far off. That Park Place reported that the showrunner has implied that the show will be led by a lesbian character, which will make this another ridiculous Kathleen Kennedy-influenced chapter to the death of the Star Wars saga.
