Heather Antos from IDW Publishing raised eyebrows a couple of months ago when she announced she would be drawing her first commercially published comic, which would be a short story as part of what can only be described as a groomer anthology, “When I Was Young.” This crowdfunded book went on BackerKit and is all about the sexual experiences of youths in LGBTQ lifestyles, making for something troubling at best.
The ”When I Was Young” anthology cover even gives a clue as to how creepy this Heather Antos project is, with what appears to be a fully adult woman touching a young child who looks like she’s about to cry and wants out of the situation.
As a comic industry professional, Heather Antos is best known for playing victim by posting extreme identity politics and then lashing out about negative responses to build her clout. She first came on the scene with the infamous “milkshake incident,” which she claimed harassment after getting criticism for posting with her feminist peers who had been causing problems with Marvel Comics’ line with identity politics-laden stories that turned off an entire generation of fans from reading.
IDW Publishing’s current head of licensing eventually quit the comic book industry, only to return to Valiant, where she brought in her friends to torpedo several lines, including fan-favorite X-O Manowar, which cratered in sales after a terrible run under her editorial control.
Heather Antos then failed upward into an editorial position at IDW Publishing, a company that has struggled over the years and been embattled. One of the executives was accused of paying a “sugar baby” with company funds. During Heather Antos’s tenure, IDW Publishing has posted multiple high-dollar quarterly losses, delisted from the New York Stock Exchange, and laid off nearly a third of its workforce while Antos continued to receive promotions.
Most recently, Heather Antos came under fire from long-time Star Trek fans for pushing through an LGBTQ pride issue of the book through IDW Publishing with work from online troll and trans activist Mags Visaggio included in the anthology.
Now, Heather Antos has been spending her time on social media promoting the “When I Was Young” anthology. The book took a lot of time to reach its goal, showing that even stalwart followers of Heather Antos were not interested in such a creepy topic for their comic book purchases.
Now, matters get worse, as Heather Antos is trying to urge her followers to get this “When I Was Young” anthology book into school libraries.
“BUT there’s still time to donate a copy of the book to a library or school near you—remember, all proceeds go to @trevorproject!” Heather Antos tweeted. The Trevor Project is an organization dedicated to grooming young children into these lifestyles.
The Comic Industry seems obsessed with trying to get children to read sexualized content and to convert them into these lifestyles. One of the hot-button issues in the industry over the last few years was over the book Gender Queer, which depicts full graphic oral sex of youth, which publisher Oni Press cried it was a “banned book” for not being allowed into some school libraries.
Whether “When I Was Young” has graphic sex depictions or not is unclear, as there aren’t a lot of preview images of the comic contents. However, the subject matter is something children should certainly not be exposed to and Heather Antos doing so in her high position in IDW Publishing is another disgusting low for the comic industry.
