Ezra Miller, the actor behind The Flash in the DC Extended Universe, has lost yet another role amidst ongoing controversies. Miller previously voiced the villainous D.A. Sinclair in season 1 of the hit animated series Invincible. However, in the latest episode “I’m Not Going Anywhere,” Sinclair returns, but is instead voiced by Eric Bauza, of ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ fame.
In recent years, Ezra Miller’s promising career has taken a tragic fall. Beginning in 2020, troubling assault and misconduct allegations began surfacing against the actor. These included an incident involving choking of a woman at a bar in Iceland.

Further arrests and allegations painted a disturbing pattern of abuse and grooming behavior by Miller. In 2022, Miller issued a public apology admitting to struggles with “complex mental health issues” and vowed to seek help.
Despite this, Warner Bros. controversially moved forward with releasing The Flash film starring Miller in 2023. But lackluster box office reception showed moviegoers still felt uncomfortable supporting Miller amidst the allegations.
Miller has subsequently been removed from all future Wizarding World franchise plans as Fantastic Beasts recasts the role of Aurelius Dumbledore. With the D.A. Sinclair role also being recast in Invincible, Ezra Miller faces a pattern of losing prominent Hollywood jobs.
Invincible, based on the acclaimed comic by Robert Kirkman, Cory Walker, and Ryan Ottley, seems unwilling to take similar risks, replacing Miller. The animated series revolves around an average teenage superhero, Mark Grayson, coming to terms with his father, Nolan, being the world’s most powerful superhero, Omni-Man.

Invincible boasts an all-star cast featuring Steven Yeun, Sandra Oh, J.K. Simmons, Seth Rogen, Gillian Jacobs, Zachary Quinto and more. Now, with the Eric Bauza recasting of D.A. Sinclair in Invincible, Miller continues losing high-profile roles. This pattern highlights how Miller’s personal issues have impacted Ezra Miller’s public perception and marketability within Hollywood.
It seems Ezra Miller’s personal demons have all but destroyed a career that showed tremendous promise just a few years ago. Following the failure of The Flash film, Miller’s future remains unclear. For now, the former rising star seems relegated to minor voice acting roles as controversies continue plaguing his public perception.
