Sylvester Stallone, star of the Paramount+ series “Tulsa King”, has been accused of creating a “toxic environment” on the show’s Atlanta set. The allegations come from background actors and extras casting director Rose Locke, who has since resigned from the series. The claims against Hollywood icon Stallone center around inappropriate comments he allegedly made about the appearance of background actors.
“Tulsa King,” a Paramount+ original from “Yellowstone” creator Taylor Sheridan, films its second season currently in Atlanta. The first season shot on location in Oklahoma. As the leading man on “Tulsa King,” Stallone plays New York mafia capo Dwight “The General” Manfredi. After being released from prison, Dwight is exiled to set up shop in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The Paramount+ drama marked Stallone’s first major TV role.

Specific allegations shared on social media by TV writer Julie Benson state that Stallone remarked to the director, “What the F* is happening with these F**** ugly backgrounds.” He then allegedly proceeded to “call certain people terrible names” and laugh at them.
She replied with a now-deleted tweet: “Got this disturbing news from my Atlanta friend who’s background on Tulsa King this wk. Casting agent quit because she was so disgusted. My friend is feeling anxious about working now.@TheSlyStallone what do you have to say for yourself, sir? Beyond disappointed, I’m livid.”
The Facebook post also alleges the “Rocky” star said, “Bring in pretty young girls to be around me.” After hearing of the incident, extras casting director Rose Locke is said to have gone to set and subsequently resigned over feeling the environment had become toxic.
In an alleged email, Locke wrote: “At the end of the day I resigned because it was a clear toxic environment that I was not comfortable putting myself or background artists in”. She included her phone number for anyone with experiences on set they wanted to share for reporting to human resources.

The Facebook page for Rose Locke Casting now directs visitors to CL Casting. A notice on that page announced the company had “chosen to part ways with Tulsa King” over the allegations around star Sylvester Stallone.
Stallone and Paramount+ have yet to comment publicly on the accusations. The streaming platform is said to be investigating the claims against the Golden Globe winner.
It remains to be seen how the controversy around its leading man will impact “Tulsa King,” one of Paramount+’s big bets for original content. If substantiated, the claims against Sylvester Stallone would contradict Paramount’s stated commitment to inclusive production.
