CreatorVC, the documentary company behind In Search of Darkness I-III and In Search of Tomorrow, has announced the upcoming release of Aliens Expanded. This documentary film is a deep dive into Aliens, the sci-fi action sequel to Alien, one of the greatest sci-fi horror films to date.
The best part? They managed to secure an interview with James Cameron to discuss his experiences with making the film. It is widely agreed that James Cameron is one of the best science fiction directors of our time with the original Terminator movies, The Abyss, and Piranha 2 (just kidding on that last one).
The success of the movie cannot be understated. The sequels and prequels have been unable to capture this movie’s storytelling and spectacle. While the first Alien film is a masterpiece in its own right as a science fiction horror story, the sequel stands out on its own. Cameron, along with the cast and crew, took Ridley Scott’s concept in a new direction, rather than doing a beat-for-beat retelling of the original story as many sequels tend to do.
Interviews include James Cameron (director), Michael Biehn (Dwayne Hicks), Lance Henriksen (Bishop), Carrie Henn (Newt), Jeanette Goldstein (Private Vasquez), Mark Rolston (Private Drake), William Hope (Lieutenant Gorman), Colette Hiller (Corporal Ferro), Daniel Kash (Private Spunkmeyer), Ricco Ross (Private Frost), Cynthia Scott (Corporal Dietrich), Alan Dean Foster (Author), Alec Gillis (Creature Effects), Graham Hartstone (Sound Department), John Lee (Model Maker), Robert Skotak (Visual Effects), Matt Winston (Co-founder of the Stan Winston School), Tom Woodruff Jr. (Creature Effects), Charles De Lauzirka (Director – Superior Firepower: Making Aliens), Mark Vereiden (Aliens Comics), Violet Castro (Author, Aliens Vasquez), and Derek Dafoe (Alien Theory YouTube Channel).
The documentary is available to purchase on their website (https://aliens-expanded.com/). Options include a digital-only package, Blu-ray, Blu-ray with T-Shirt, and various producer options, if you have the cash on hand. The deadline for purchase is May 5th, 2024. The digital content is expected to be available in June 2024 with the physical media and goodies set to be despatched in July 2024.

CreatorVC has done great work in the past with their “In Search of” series regarding 80s horror and science fiction in general, so this documentary should prove to be quite the treat for fans of the Aliens film series or just fans of science fiction in general.
