Mark Hamill may have made the most cringeworthy political statement of all time this weekend, as the Biden Administration tried to tap into the fake Disney holiday “May The Fourth Be With You” to try to appeal to consumer-Americans who still identify with giant corporate brands like Star Wars. It’s not the first time Mark Hamill has inserted himself into ridiculous politics to make himself look foolish, but it may be one of the most bizarre.
The actor might be best known as Luke Skywalker, but on Twitter, he’s known as an angry ranter. His biggest claim to fame is having called for his granddaughter to be aborted, which Nerdrotic of Friday Night Tights brings up in various tweet replies to remind Mark Hamill of how evil he’s been to his own family when the man tries to paint anyone conservative as somehow morally inferior.
Mark Hamill joins a long list of entitled Hollywood celebrities who would rather lambast half of their fanbases than act with any kind of political civility online. He’s shown rather than celebrate Star Wars, he’ll use any situation to push his extreme leftist political agenda.

After the University of Nevada shooting in 2023, Mark Hamill made a video ranting about banning assault weapons. He also led a campaign to get people to stop tweeting because Elon Musk took over the platform, something he couldn’t even bring himself to do as the former Star Wars actor is serially online. He used the hashtag #August1stTweetOutDay but failed because he couldn’t get offline because of what he claimed was the Trump indictment.
Now, Mark Hamill was invited to speak at a White House Press Conference for the May The Fourth Be With You celebration. He started like it was a Twitter argument, saying, “How many of you had Mark Hamill will be leading the White House Press briefing on your bingo card?”
It gets cringier from there as the Star Wars actor simps for Joe Biden, saying, “I just got to meet the president, and he gave me these aviator glasses. I love the merch.”
But as he speaks about meeting Joe Biden, Mark asked, “Can I call you Joe-Bi-Wan Kenobi?”
The comment elicited mocking across the internet as people unleashed collective groans on Mark Hamill.

A representative from Virginia’s legislature, Nick Freitas, posted, “Disney: ‘I bet we can make Luke Skywalker a pathetic washed-up version of himself.’ Mark Hamill: ‘Hold my lightsaber.’”
X newsman Mario Newfal posted, “I think fans may be right… Biden and Mark Hamill have ruined Star Wars.”
Human Events editor Jack Posobiec rounded up the comments by saying, “Looking at today’s creepy May the Fourth people online, and Mark Hamill’s humiliation at the White House I am more convinced than ever that raising my kids without any Star Wars is the right move.”
Disney also unleashed a trailer for Star Wars: The Acolyte on the same day, but the internet was mostly quiet on this new diversity-filled show. It seems that between Mark Hamill and the company itself, Star Wars might finally be losing its audience.

As goofy as Mark Hamill is, I didn’t expect him to crap on the Star Wars legacy like this.
