R.I.P. DC Fontana

December 3, 2019 by Jon Del Arroz Leave a Comment

Just got word from a friend of Dorothy Fontana (D.C. Fontana) that she passed away last evening.

She was one of sci-fi’s greats, one of the hardest workers out there. Her episodes of Star Trek are what she’s most remembered for, but she did so much behind the scenes work editing and revising others’ scripts, putting final polishes on the show, and more. She wrote for Kung Fu, Babylon 5, Logan’s Run and more.

Truly she was one of the most accomplished television writers and pushed scii-fi as a genre to whole new levels which established the roots of our culture. An amazing woman with an amazing work ethic. I hope folk will take the time to research a little into her work and accomplishments today.

If I remember correctly, she wrote an origin story of one of the important He-Man/She-Ra characters.
