I don’t see how anyone can care or be surprised that the new movie looks to be just as much of a trainwreck as the last two, if not more.
I saw this coming when The Force Awakens came out. There were some decent ideas there, but the execution was so bad on the character and worldbuilding levels where there was nowhere anyone could have gone with it that would have made it satisfying.
The only way to fix it, would be to take kernels of ideas, and do something else entirely.
That’s what started me working on The Saga of the Nano Templar.
I wanted to create a real, strong male lead to be an inspiration for a new generation. Someone with values, virtue, a clear vision for what’s right. Someone doing God’s will.
The problem with the force in general is it has no will, it strives for “balance”, whatever that means.
But there can be no balance between good and evil. Evil cannot coexist with good. The movies show this. Every time good gives ground for balance, evil takes over, evil presses further, evil triumphs.
We need to inspire men not to be detached Bhuddist monks who sit around and whine on starships about midichlorians, but to hold true to their missions, their cause, and to push culture in a way that promotes their values.
Sounds like real heroes, doesn’t it?
That’s what I went for in Justified and its sequels, and from the reviews, I think I not only pulled off the hero archetype as a character, but created a world which is far more compelling than RESISTANCE VS. FIRST ORDER.
You can start the series here for your Christmas vacation. I promise quality entertainment.
