Given the campaign page, I get asked “is this real?” a lot.
Like every other book I come out with, RoboToad is about producing a good and fun comic FIRST.
A lot of folk online are trying to sell inside jokes with a cover slapped on it aimed at a small group of trolls — but RoboToad, while obviously parodying the name of Cyberfrog (as so many of its fans are just angry, rekt manlets who hate comics), is a real comic first.
If you haven’t checked out my comcis before. I like CLASSIC storytelling style. A beginning, middle, and end in an issue, which is almost impossible to find in comics these days.
Comics lost its way when it stopped focusing on core storytelling and began meandering with focus on variant covers, collecter’s crap, and getting in the news, valuing those over stories.
The reason folk do that is it WORKS — just look at how much talk RoboToad has gotten compared to my Golden Age Superhero book, Dynamite Thor, which couldn’t get people discussing the concept even though it was an awesome book by all backers’ accounts.
So we have to have some marketing, but over here, you can always expect a quality story to come with it.
RoboToad as a story isn’t about inside jokes, you’re not going to be sorry you supported the comic — its’ a real storyline, a classic monster-trope comic which will be enjoyable by EVERYONE! (It’s family friendly, no unnecessary gore nor sexual situations).
Comics are supposed to be high action, fun, stuff that you can read and your kids can read too and everyone can enjoy it together. That’s what I’m constantly delivering and with your help,we will keep delivering more.
If you enjoy the storytelling from the Silver and Brozne Age, you’ll LOVE Rekt Manlet, because it hits on all the points — intense character stakes, a dangerous situation, high drama and action, all packed into 22 pages.
I hope you’ll check it out and continue to support great and real comics.
Thank you! Back here:
