FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
ComicsGate Signs Popular Crowdfund Comic, RoboToad: Rekt Manlet!
San Francisco, CA: ComicsGate Comics, the unquestioned leader in quality indie comic books, has signed Jon Del Arroz’s RoboToad: Rekt Manlet as the first outside creator to be published under its imprint!
After a long discussion on the future of the comic book industry, core values, quality comics, Preston Poulter, owner of ComicsGate, has agreed to place the popular crowdfund book, RoboToad: Rekt Manlet in place under his new ComicsGate imprint.
Mr. Poulter says he intends to license the ComicsGate brand to other independent creators who, “respect customer information, refuse to engage in online harassment or libel, and produce timely, high quality books.”
As Jon Del Arroz has a reputation for delivering quality books, on time, and always treats customers, fans, and creators alike with utmost respect, RoboToad: Rekt Manlet made a good fit for the project.
RoboToad: Rekt Manlet came under fire from an online harassment campaign when it launched last week, when followers of comic creator, Ethan Van Sciver, bombarded Del Arroz’s social media, mass reporting and getting Del Arroz suspended on Twitter, YouTube, and Facebook. “It’s amazing how some people want to shut down the free speech of comic creators. They’re angry that they have no ability to blacklist great projects like RoboToad in the online marketplace of ideas, and they can’t process that readers crave the quality books I produce. The trolls truly are Rekt Manlets.”
RoboToad features beautiful art in the tradition of Steve Ditko or Mark Bagley, with excellent sequential storytelling. The book is about a Toad-designed robot gone bad, with its creator forced to deal with the consequences of the evil he unleashed upon the world. The campaign is live on IndieGoGo now.
