It might come as somewhat of a surprise to people, but I don’t let my children play video games nor use the internet.
I’ve watched as so many in this generation raised their kids on ipads, staring at a screen like zombies from the age of zero, and they can hardly function in any environment without the tech plugged right into them.
I’ve watched now kids in middle school get caught up in fortnite and other video games and trapped, unable to do anything else all of the time.
It’s destructive, especially in the formative years, and those who are able to pay attention in the real world are going to get ahead while the others get lost in these addictive states. And they’re pushing these psychologically to be more addictive than ever. It’s intentional.
I recommend everyone keep their kids away from phones and computers, ipads and switches. Who’s making those apps on there they use other than the satanic Silicon Valley elite anyway?
When they’re older, they can make their own decisions. But one should do everything they can to preserve the innocence of children while possible.

We kept the yard ape from cell phones, switches and tablets, but got her an ex reader and computer games, because we like to play them ourselves. We even have a Wii (gift from a relation) that only comes out at parties…
And the kid can bake and sew (from her own patterns) and cook, and clean, and master the calculus…
So. Good in principle. Just a bit of tweaking in practice.
