I just started reading Prince Valiant and I couldn’t put it down. This is really the pinnacle of what we’re trying to achieve in comics with our fantasy work and I had no idea that in 1937 they were doing such excellent work as this. It’s truly incredible.
I’m of course going to do a youtube review, but I really wanted to gush about Hal Foster’s work this morning. This is real heroism, real action, real romance, everything involved in a perfect story, plus the art is so incredible I can’t believe it exists.
I’m gonna be hustling to get the next volumes of this in as the one I had only covered 1937-1938 and this strip goes on forever. It’s not just a normal newspaper strip, it’s a wonderful continuing story which is well designed.
Read excellence and you will write excellence. I firmly believe this. Here’ s a couple prince valiant images:
So gorgeous. Long day of writing ahead. Thank you all for being the best readers out there.

PRINCE VALIANT IS AMAZING. I grew up reading the later ones in the newspapers for years, and collected a few of the older collections. It’s the absolute best and my favorite Arthurian story and favorite comic of all time! How delightful you get to discover them!
