Everyone’s going to be doing midwit April Fools jokes today, so I’m going to take the opposite route and open up and talk about something a little heavier.
I’m the type of person who can’t get to sleep because my mind reels. I lay awake at night thinking of things like “what if the Earth stopped spinning” or “what if the atmosphere dissipated” or “what if the moon fell from orbit?” And yes, they’re generally dark thoughts about mass catastrophe or death somehow.
But there’s a silver lining behind it because when you start to compile all the things that could go drastically wrong to make it so life doesn’t exist, you start to realize exactly how many extreme complexities are required in order for us all to live our day to day lives and simply exist. With so many possibilities for failure in a system where there’s so many crazy things that have to happen every second of every day just for our lives to continue, it becomes self-evident that the entire universe is something built on faith, and more importantly, is something built and constructed.
Our continued existence proves God is real, because there’s no other possibility. It’s beautiful, we are blessed, and we take it for granted.
