Ostensibly in an attempt to combat the normalization of transsexualism, cross-dressing, and the absurdity of male-to-female trans athletes participating in competitive women’s sports, conservative media outlet The Daily Wire has released basketball sports comedy Lady Ballers with much fanfare. The plot revolves around a washed-up high school basketball coach who envisions a path to victory by fielding a team of cross-dressing men to be trans athletes in a women’s league.
Lady Ballers has been met with mixed reviews from conservative reviewers, but a common sentiment is that the film feels like it could have been made two or three decades ago before Hollywood openly began portraying sexual degeneracy in a positive light. In reality, Lady Ballers unintentionally demonstrates that there are forms of evil so depraved and sickening that they should not even be named, much less parodied.

Viewers may come away from the film with a vague sense of unease even if they can’t quite articulate the cause.
Although avoiding full-frontal nudity, the film portrays cross-dressing, transsexualism, sadomasochism, infidelity, and various forms of debauchery in a distinctly lighthearted, if parodic, manner. This approach to the subject matter is part of the problem. Lighthearted and comedic portrayals of degeneracy was one of the initial tactics used by the Hollywood hellmouth itself to begin the normalization of degenerate behavior in the first place.
Examples of this from yesteryear include the 1997 comedy Beverly Hills Ninja, where Chris Farley’s character meets a crossdressing man and is utterly baffled by the encounter, and 1952’s The Crimson Pirate, where Burt Lancaster and Nick Cravat cross-dress in an attempt to approach the film’s villain during a festival.
Normalization of trans athletes begins with taking something that should sicken you, and making it the subject of comedy, inexorably nudging the issue into the realm of the ordinary.
The Daily Wire might be a few decades behind in the entertainment industry’s headlong rush into the cesspool of filth, but they will inevitably catch up sooner or later.

Several vain attempt at wholesomeness appear near the end of the film, such as when the coach (played by Co-CEO of the Daily Wire Jeremy Boreing) sets his daughter straight when she comes to him weeping, insisting that she has decided to transition to a man, since men are “better at everything”.
Jeremy Boreing’s character eventually comes to realize the error of his ways and disbands his team of trans athletes.
The film features a steady stream of cameos from Daily Wire contributors such as Candace Owens, Jordan Peterson, Ben Shapiro, and Brett Cooper, who is set to star in the Daily Wire’s upcoming Snow White and the Evil Queen. Senator Ted Cruz and former competitive swimmer Riley Gaines also make appearances in the film.
Lady Baller’s sole redeeming grace is that it does NOT include a gratuitous cameo from comedian and political commentator Steven Crowder with his “junk” hanging out. Earlier this year, it was revealed that Crowder refused to join the Daily Wire due to a contract dispute. If things had turned out differently, Crowder would have no doubt leaped at the opportunity to participate in the simulated degeneracy of Lady Ballers. Crowder has a history of cross-dressing and exposing himself on camera.
