Information about the upcoming project involving Ryan Coogler and Michael B. Jordan has been relatively sparse, but according to sources, it’s shaping up to be a period thriller with undead elements (could be a vampire movie). Some have suggested it might be set in the Jim Crow-era South and could incorporate anime influences, which aligns with Michael B. Jordan’s known affinity for the genre. However, specifics about how these influences will be integrated into the project remain unclear.

Interestingly, the term “vampire” hasn’t been explicitly mentioned in reports, with references instead made to “the undead.” While this could encompass various supernatural beings, previous rumours predominantly focused on vampires. The possible setting in the Jim Crow-era South continues the Hollywood obsession with exploiting American history to stoke racial division for the sake of pushing a political agenda. The use of undead creatures, vampires or zombies, will be a superficial attempt to inject excitement into racially polarising propaganda.

Reports indicate that filming for Ryan Coogler and Michael B. Jordan’s untitled project is rumoured to commence in April in New Orleans. With production looming, further details, including a specific logline and casting announcements, are anticipated to emerge.

This venture marks Ryan Coogler’s return to filmmaking since his Black Panther movies, which grossed over $2 billion worldwide. While the project has been described as a “genre” film, details beyond that have been tightly guarded. The bidding by three major studios—Sony, Warner Bros., and Universal—underscores the industry’s eagerness to secure the rights to further stoke racial hatred and division within an already divided country.

The reported budget of approximately $90 million indicates a significant investment in the project. Discussions about potential co-ownership of the intellectual property further highlight the stakes involved, with the filmmakers seeking to retain creative control over their vision. The emphasis is on a traditional theatrical release, signaling a departure from the streaming-centric strategies favored by many studios. This aligns with Ryan Coogler and Michael B. Jordan’s vision for a global theatrical experience, underscoring their commitment to cinematic propaganda.

As the auction draws to a close, speculation abounds regarding the eventual victor. While Warner Bros. is reportedly considered a front-runner, competition remains fierce among all three contenders. Regardless of the outcome, Ryan Coogler and Michael B. Jordan’s collaboration has already generated significant buzz within the industry.

With negotiations nearing conclusion, Hollywood’s eyes are on Ryan Coogler and Michael B. Jordan, eager to exploit the Jim Crow period for their own gain. It is time for Hollywood to move beyond this tired trope and explore new and original stories that do not rely on driving racial division between black and white Americans to create drama and excitement. The focus should be on telling stories that uplift and inspire rather than perpetuating negative stereotypes and reinforcing outdated narratives. Give us Blade instead.

Ryan Cooglar should just move to Cuba and make his propaganda films, there. Along with the rest of the corrupt players in Hollywood right now(Mark Ruffalo, Rob Reiner, Chelsea Handler, Bette Midler, Stephen Colbert, Wanda Sykes, Adam McKay, Ava DuVernay, Ron Perlman, Jay-Z etc.)
