Eric July announced a new arm to his robust Rippaverse comic empire on Wednesday with the unveiling of his new Rippasend initiative. With a five-minute video explaining the concept and a new website, Eric July aims to transform crowdfunding for independent creators by offering a one-stop shop providing consulting, campaign management, webstore openings, printing and production, and fulfillment. Moreover, he announced the first creator to be involved in the Rippasend program to be Jay David, the fan-beloved Star Wars YouTuber Drunk 3PO.
In the promotional video, Eric July talked about the new Rippaverse initiative and how it would benefit content creators. He mentioned it would be best for creators with a following who don’t want to deal with the hassles of production outside of the creative part. There will be an application process, which Eric July says is mainly geared toward ensuring the creator would benefit from the Rippasend services.

Eric July mentioned two scenarios where creatives would get the most out of Rippasend. One is where a creator wanted to produce a project but didn’t know the business and would benefit from the knowledge of the Rippaverse team, from how to price a book to what the economics would be. The second would be for creatives who are “bored” with the business concept and instead just want to hand the reins to someone else and just create.
The application process is currently unclear, with details on the website to be released later. However, Eric July also teased that several creators were already on board with Rippasend, which would be announced soon.
True to his word, the Rippaverse Comics X account announced the first creator to be involved in the program a few hours later, posting, “Our first @RippaSend creator is Jay David/@Drunk3po! His first book, Achromatic Chronicles: Blue, was a massive $107,000 crowdfunding success. We are proud to announce that the next installment, Achromatic Chronicles: Green, will be published by RippaSend!”

Rippaverse Comics further teased, “Be on the lookout for Achromatic Chronicles: Green later this year!”
Drunk 3PO’s comic was met with enthusiasm last year as the crowdfunding campaign pulled in an incredible amount of backers. Reviews have been positive for his all-ages book.
The announcement fueled speculation among indie comics fans about who might be added to the Rippasend roster next. Rumors swirled that Yellowflash 2 might launch via Rippasend, given he has been teasing a crowdfund with artist John Dillard over the last several months. Others speculated that Nerdrotic may finally launch his book on the Rippasend platform.
With several high-profile creators already being discussed as potentials for the Rippasend initiative, it appears Eric July has another hit on his hands soon after the release of Joe Bennett’s The Art Of Alphacore, the limited edition art book selling out in a matter of days.
Rippaverse continues to grow in diverse and interesting products as a true competitor to mainstream comics, changing the game for the field of indie creators.

Bad Move. Eric is not that good of a businessman, and definitely isn’t a very good sales/pitch man.
It’s 3 years since the beginning and he only has 3 books out. This is catastrophic.
I as well as many other have said time and again for Eric to just shut up and make new comics. By this time he should have 10 separate books to drop every year with more on the way.
He’s dragging his feet. This will cost him dearly.
