Eric July has another massive hit with Yaira #1 by the Soska Sisters. The fourth Rippaverse title to reach $1 million in sales, this volume did so in record time, even beating out Isom #1 for how fast the book reached the six-figure number. With several surprises in the campaign, the team did an incredible job building hype for the project.

Yaira has to be the most hotly anticipated character in the Rippaverse. Women have been cosplaying her since she was first announced over a year ago. In Isom, Yaira is teased with a cameo with very little information about who she is, but now, with the graphic novel released by the Soska Sisters, readers can get the full story.

The Rippaverse campaign features four covers, several options for merch, and something that went unannounced—a Rippazine featuring articles and a thirteen-page comic drawn by legend Bart Sears to launch another hero in Eric July’s line.

As the campaign launched, Rippaverse fans were all in on the Soska Sisters’ offering, with average backing in the first few hours being nearly $300, which means the fans are buying all the merch they can get their hands on in addition to the book proper.

Fans were also treated to a live-action trailer written and directed by the Soska Sisters. Since the Soska Sisters come from a film background, this was a welcome addition to the comic, which leaves many speculating about whether Eric July will be moving into film for his Rippaverse productions soon.

The campaign text reads as follows:

Who or what is Yaira? For the citizens of Florespark and the Alphacore who protect them from Except-related threats, Yaira is a power and a force of nature unlike anything else they’ve seen to date. After a battle fought to a standstill, Bryan Solari of the Alphacore told Yaira to leave Florespark and never return. But Yaira doesn’t play by anyone’s rules – she makes her own, and now she’s back. But what does this wintry force want in Florespark, and why has she chosen to return now? Yaira’s history goes back further, and her origins reach farther than anyone realizes. And sometimes, a deeper past means more to come back and haunt you.

When you wield such immeasurable power, your choices can have far-reaching consequences. What happens when Yaira’s past catches up with her, and others are affected and forced to pay the price for her actions? Reading Yaira #1 by Jen and Sylvia Soska is the only way to find out!

EVS is right the art isn’t on point I hope the story is good but the artist isn’t that great it’s off not gritty just off shape very rookie art. I hope Eric improves moving forward Yaira to me just seems like a background character or side character. I hope Chuck can clean this up and bring in his guys to assist. The Rippaverse can be great but needs some work maybe Razor Fist could help he knows comics. If Eric can steal Tomasi that would be a huge win.

He should hire Mike he’s a good artist and blacklisted. Mike would draw a blonde way better than an actual blonde funny enough. Kenneth Rocafort and Brett Booth would also be awesome artists for him to secure and Dale Keown. Von Klaus does freelance work too he would create an amazing comic in the Rippaverse.
