Legendary director Francis Ford Coppola is finally unveiling his long-gestating passion project, Megalopolis, at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival this May. The film promises to be a sprawling sci-fi epic set in a futuristic New York City, directed and financed by Coppola himself to the hefty sum of $120 million.

Francis Ford Coppola originally conceived the idea for Megalopolis back in the 1980s but struggled for decades to get the ambitious project off the ground. Now nearly 40 years later, movie fans will finally witness Coppola’s cinematic vision brought to life when Megalopolis holds its world premiere at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival in France on May 17th, 2023.

The film is set in a sprawling retro-futuristic version of New York City designed by Coppola, working with top production designers. It follows an ambitious architect named Caesar (Adam Driver) who wants to rebuild the metropolis as a modern utopia after a disaster, opposed by the city’s mayor (Giancarlo Esposito). Their ideological clash plays out with sci-fi flair.

In addition to Adam Driver and Giancarlo Esposito, Francis Ford Coppola has assembled an impressive ensemble cast for Megalopolis, including Forest Whitaker, Nathalie Emmanuel, Jon Voight, Laurence Fishburne, and Shia LaBeouf. The star-studded lineup promises powerhouse performances guided by Coppola’s trademark direction.

Francis Ford Coppola is self-financing this epic production, investing over $100 million of his own money because major Hollywood studios balked at backing such an experimental film. The early footage shown to select audiences has already earned standing ovations for its dazzling visuals and imagination. Some industry insiders still question whether Megalopolis can find mainstream success, given Coppola’s uncompromising vision combined with pressure to recoup its massive budget.

Cannes will provide the perfect backdrop for Francis Ford Coppola’s return to epic filmmaking. It will show that he still has the creative chops that brought classics like The Godfather, Apocalypse Now, and Bram Stoker’s Dracula to the screen. Megalopolis promises the same level of scale and complexity that have defined Coppola’s most iconic works.

The 77-year-old filmmaker has described Megalopolis as the culmination of everything he’s learned across five decades of filmmaking. Cinephiles and fans of the legendary director will surely flock to Cannes this May for a one-of-a-kind viewing experience only Francis Ford Coppola could deliver.

My advice for Francis Ford Coppola is to go to Angel Studios as the distributor, since they do crowdfunding.

Coppola has covered for pedophiles in the past many of which are his friends look up Victor Salva not only that in an interview he admits this movie was made as part of his deal to sell his soul. Most of his movies are intended to promote degenerate behaviors anyway. He’s a liberal as well why would he work with Angel?

It could be a joke for all we know. And Hollywood itself has been trying to stop Francis Ford Coppola from making this movie. Yeah, Coppola is liberal, but Hollywood is Far Left Extremist. Learn to separate Liberals from Far Left Extremists.

I don’t think that’s a good idea he defended a pedophile who he continued to work with Victor Salva. He also sued and blackballed the minor who came forward against Salva and he gave Salva legal support as well as allowed Salva to include molestation jokes in Jeepers Creepers 3 after Salva was released. Salva’s crimes go deep. I don’t want Coppola near them or vice versa the guy is part of the cabal.
