A new character has been introduced into the Fallout TV series, and the fans are left cold. The new character, Dane, is introduced into the Fallout TV series as: “Dane is a confident and eager Initiate of the Brotherhood of Steel, and Maximus’s closest peer. They believe in the mission of the Brotherhood and dream of one day suiting up as a Knight,” and again referred to as “they” in the description of the episode called “The End”: “Dane is an aspirant of the Brotherhood of Steel and friend of Maximus.
After being promoted to squire they are injured by a suspicious accident. While some suspect Maximus orchestrated the accident, Dane assures him they do not believe those rumors. Maximus is chosen to replace Dane as Knight Titus’s squire.” Mentally sane fans are wondering why a woman would be referred to as “they.” Are the show-runners implying that she is possessed, more than one entity?

The inclusion of the woman called Dane in the Brotherhood of Steel is particularly incongruent. The Brotherhood of Steel, a faction driven by zealous devotion, embarked on a crusade to purge the wasteland of aberrations and anomalies. Their fervent belief in the eradication of threats guides their actions, as they view themselves as guardians against the chaos of the post-apocalyptic world.
This singular mission fuels their relentless pursuit of order and purity amidst the desolation of the wasteland. Throughout the Fallout Games series, the Brotherhood of Steel has consistently played a prominent role, manifesting in various forms across each installment. It is a hard sell to Fallout fans that the Brotherhood of Steel would accept a mentally ill woman who pretends to be a man in their ranks.

The actress portraying Dane in Fallout is Xelia Mendes-Jones, who posted on Instagram that she “only really use(s) he/they now” and that “if you still refer to [them] as female, that’s on you at this stage.” In her Instagram bio, she also refers to herself as “your local trans guy.”
Josh Birmingham pointed out the elephant in the room when he posted on X: “So. Let me get this straight. After the apocalypse, when survival in the wastes is the primary goal – food, rad-free water, shelter, defending against mutants and raiders.. someone is thinking about their gender identity. No, no, I hate to say this, but they would not survive.”
X user imbratoRE𝕏 added: “Correct that’s why I am being sarcastic about this. Especially in the Atomic era. “They” would have been in a mental health institute or, if it’s within the Brotherhood Of Steel: jail or something.”
Do you think that the Brotherhood of Steel would have accepted a mentally woman like Dane in their ranks? Let us know in the comments.

I watched the first episode and thought she was just a she but found it odd that she was in this group clearly made for men (but I also noticed other females too ) . Now that I read this article I’ll pass on watching the rest of the series . Thanks for saving me the time.

It is well established that there are female Knights in the BOS, examples include Star Paladin and Sarah Lyons. It is also known that the BOS frowns on homosexuality as Veronica lamented that everyone was expected to produce the next generation.
