X user Hypnotic (@RealHypnotic1) exposed what looks like Kotaku senior editor Alyssa Mercante stalking Mark Kern (@Grummz). Mark Kern posted on X, quote tweeting Hypnotic: “We joked that she watches all my streams, but this is really getting into Stalker territory! I don’t think she’s missed a single one of my streams, and I’ve done a lot.”
Blocking anyone that supports gamers, then tweeting about them from behind a block would appear to be Alyssa Mercante from Kotaku’s standard modus operandi. Just recently Alyssa Mercante, who has Fandom Pulse and contributors to Fandom Pulse blocked, posted a fake tweet from Fandom Pulse reading: “Kotaku’s Alyssa Mercante Is Hot.” Her post was brought to the attention of Fandom Pulse, to which we replied: “Oh look, failed Kotaku ghoul and cam girl Alyssa Mercante is making fake posts by our account to passive-aggressively go at us.”

Now Hypnotic exposed how for the second time Kotaku’s Alyssa Mercante has been caught posting on his livestream with Mark Kern, and doing so from behind a block. Hypnotic’s post on X read: “Share This Story. Shout out to Alyssa Mercante, as expected you, as a fan of the bigot army, were watching my livestream with @Grummz [Mark Kern-edit] behind your block. We even mentioned it multiple times during the stream that you would be watching and you have proven that you indeed were.
Congratulations Alyssa. You have showcased you cannot stay away. You have been hypnotized. This is the 2nd time you’ve posted my stream, proving you indeed watch often. Easily predictable (the insults were predicted as well btw, so hilarious that you went for the grade school insults) Pathetic. Please do better. Insult better, you can be better than this. Mark Kern is right, this creepy behaviour by Kotaku’s Alyssa Mercante is, if not outright stalking Mark Kern, then at the very least borderline so, which raises the question – does Kotaku pay their senior editor Alyssa Mercante to stalk Mark Kern?
