Take-Two Interactive, the parent company of Rockstar Games that is developing GTA 6 anticipates GTA 6 to be released in fall 2025, as announced during its earnings call earlier last week.
GTA 6 which has been in development for a decade is rumoured to have had a budget of $2 billion, which would make GTA 6 the most expensive video game in history. According to the report “the vast majority of that budget is due to the personnel involved and supporting their salaries for such a long development cycle.”
The previous instalments of the GTA franchise has been hugely successful, and considering Take-Two Interactive’ earnings call last week when they disclosed a $2.9 billion loss for the first quarter of 2024, they will need Rockstar Games’ GTA 6 to be every bit as successful. Take-Two Interactive says that most of the $2.9 billion loss incurred in the first quarter of 2024 was due to “goodwill,” so we can only speculate on what that means. According to Variety it “could refer to the ongoing expenses from its $12.7 billion acquisition of mobile giant Zynga in 2022.”
GTA 6 may however not be as successful as the previous iterations of the GTA franchise. Rumours milled shortly after the trailer for Rockstar Games’ GTA 6 allegedly leaked. According to one rumour on Steam, GTA 6 has gone full woke: “In a shocking turn of events, the highly anticipated GTA 6 is shaping up to be a prime example of excessive “wokeness” in the gaming industry. Recent leaks suggest that the game is going to extraordinary lengths to cater to the overly sensitive ideas of the modern players, and it’s anything but good for those of us who appreciate the based nature of the Grand Theft Auto series. Firstly, GTA 6 introduces a pronoun system, supposedly to make “all players feel comfortable.” …. They’ve also included a trans character. It’s becoming painfully clear that this inclusion is driven by a desire to check boxes rather than to enrich the narrative. It’s like they’re using characters as tokens to gain approval, which is just plain insulting to the gaming community. The main protagonist, a Latino woman, is now referred to as “Latinx.” …. Worse yet, the game is heavily censored to avoid offending modern players. The beauty of GTA was its willingness to push boundaries and challenge players to confront uncomfortable themes. Now, it seems like they’re more interested in playing it safe in a “safe space” than delivering a truly immersive experience.”

These rumours have been quickly shut down as just that – rumours. But we do however know that Take-Two Interactive and Rockstar Games have significantly toned down GTA, not the degenerate parts mind you – just the politically incorrect parts.
Back in July 2022 already Bloomberg reported that: “The company removed transphobic jokes from the most recent console release of Grand Theft Auto V,” and “Rockstar’s next game, Grand Theft Auto VI, will include a playable female protagonist for the first time, according to people familiar with the game. The woman, who is Latina, will be one of a pair of leading characters in a story influenced by the bank robbers Bonnie and Clyde, the people said. Developers are also being cautious not to “punch down” by making jokes about marginalized groups, the people said, in contrast to previous games.”
So in Take-Two Interactive and Rockstar Games’s GTA 6 you can still watch land-whales twerking and you can throw civilians off a building, but God forbid you say something racist or sexist. Time will tell if GTA 6 can make up for that $2.9 billion loss.

This Game is Doomed. Ever since Rockstar went woke They’ve Destroyed their Reputation.
I don’t think so sadly people will buy it in droves because it’s GTA something would have to go horribly wrong for it to fail it would need a horrible marketing campaign, bad leaks confirming its woke, buggy launch, and I don’t know what else for it to actually flop. If they are overspending that would be a serious problem too because I would assume this would sell well internationally unless the loss of the Russian market hurts them bad. Most places ignore that without the Russian audience these games have taken a serious loss in profits since they lost one of their biggest audiences outside America and China.

Sadly I think it will do well since it’s GTA and even if it’s woke people will still buy it even the idiot “anti-sjw” influencers buy this shit when they complain about it. If it does bad for being woke would love to see that. Heard the rumor the boyfriend is supposed to be an undercover cop and he betrays the girl now it makes sense why he’s white. Would have preferred if this game had Trevor as a main since he was supposed to move to Vice City.
Are they doing a weird woke version of Calamity Jane for Red Dead Redemption 3? Think about it that seems like what’s next? Rumors are they’re making Bully 2 imagine that could be like Euphoria meets Mean Girls. It’s horrifying yet hilarious once you catch your breath.
