Despite TheGamer, or rather TheGaymer as YellowFalsh prefers to call them, claiming that Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed Shadows pre-orders are exploding, YellowFlash expressed serious doubts. TheGaymer’s claim is based on a single X post by Tom Henderson which reads: “Assassin’s Creed Shadows pre-orders are looking very strong. I don’t have the exact numbers yet, but no one in the know is disappointed with them.”
In his latest video YellowFlash points out that it is probably true that “no one in the know is disappointed with them” regarding the pre-order claim. He points out that Assassin’s Creed is an established franchise with a player base that doesn’t pay attention to Ubisoft’s woke agenda and just wants a new Assassin’s Creed Game.

Similar to other franchises like Call of Duty, Assassin’s Creed has a dedicated group of players who purchase each new release. This loyal fan base ensures that new entries in the series generate strong initial sales, regardless of controversies.
YellowFlash points out that despite the claimed strong pre-orders, he is sceptic about how Assassin’s Creed Shadows will perform compared to previous titles in the series. The franchise has seen declining sales over recent years, and we will only get the complete picture if we can compare Assassin’s Creed Shadows pre-orders to the pre-orders of previous Assassin’s Creed games. Of course Ubisoft won’t release the figures.
Assassin’s Creed developer, the ultra-woke game company Ubisoft, has been under significant pressure lately, and has seen its stock prices tank immediately after release of the Assassin’s Creed Shadows trailer. Ubisoft also had multiple titles failing to meet sales expectations. The success of Assassin’s Creed Shadows is critical for Ubisoft, especially given that the upcoming release of another major title, Star Wars Outlaws, is already being heavily criticised for its ugly androgynous looking girl boss protagonist Kay Vess. If both games fail to perform well, it could lead to more layoffs and restructuring.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows’ success is anything but certain for Ubisoft with Japanese furious with the disrespectful black-washing of Japanese culture in Assassin’s Creed Shadows. Furious about making Yasuke, in real life, a servant, a main protagonist, and a samurai in a game that is set in Japan. Even a CD Projekt Red artist, have acknowledged the validity of the criticisms aimed at Assassin’s Creed Shadows. He was of course promptly bullied by the DEI commissars to issue a statement of apology.
YellowFlash is right though, while Assassin’s Creed Shadows will probably sell good enough despite the controversy, there is likely to be a huge drop in sales compared to previous games in the franchise.
