It seems hard for anyone to think about anything but election day today.
Anecdotally, I came out with my first novel 4 years ago, this very week of the election. Because of it, sales lagged until I was able to get them boosted a few months later.
I’m watching Amazon right now to see what’s going on, but it’s going to be my expectation very few people compared to normal will be reading today as well.
It’s odd how the entire populace can tune out and collectively hold their breaths for a whole day, but this is the one day a year it tends to happen. Ironically, other holidays like Christmas tend to see a boost in sales.
What can an author do? Don’t stress to much out there, fam. It’ll all be good at the end of the day.
