Apple TV’s Godzilla-related adventure series, Monarch: Legacy of Monsters, started out strong, providing what appeared to be quality entertainment that appealed to a broad range of audience members. However, in the fifth episode, the series pulled a bait-and-switch, revealing that the lead female protagonist is in fact an unrepentant lesbian. A flashback scene reveals the character in bed with a former same-sex lover.

The phenomenon of pulling bait-and-switch tricks, intending to hook audience members with what appears to be an intriguing story—but blasting them with degeneracy—is becoming increasingly common in productions originating from Hollywood. It appears to be a deliberate tactic on the part of the industry, to draw audiences in with content that initially appears to conform to classical storytelling patterns, and portrays normal human behavior—then make up for it through unbridled degeneracy.

It is as if the filmmakers feel like they have to “atone” for the concessions they have made to normal people during promotions. They reassert their allegiance to the perverted demon-gods worshipped by the Hollywood elite in the story’s content.

This sudden, but perhaps not-so-unexpected, nosedive has audiences shutting off their TV screens and regretting any investment they put into following the story. What used to be an enjoyable experience for everyone has turned into something to be avoided like the plague, lest it pollute the mind even further.
Possibly the first prominent example of this bait-and-switch tactic is in Joss Whedon’s popular 1997 fantasy series Buffy the Vampire Slayer, in which the initially delightful and fan-favorite character Willow was only confirmed to be a degenerate after several seasons.

Hollywood is becoming incapable of good storytelling due to a pathological commitment toward “social justice,” which includes the normalization of degeneracy. Economist Vox Day has observed that any organization committed to social justice will eventually become incapable of performing its primary function. This is proving to be true for Apple TV, whose “primary function” is to provide enjoyable television, but is invariably becoming incapable of doing so.
Another technique commonly employed by Hollywood perverts today is to “lightly sprinkle” degeneracy into their productions, only featuring it every couple of episodes. This allows jaded conservative viewers to convince themselves (if they are desperate enough to keep watching) that the content might go away. Prominent examples of this include the current slate of STAR TREK productions, including Discovery and Strange New Worlds.

Star Trek: Discovery provided both a “light sprinkle” of degeneracy while also pulling an enormous bait-and-switch. While featuring the occasional gay plot line, the show also featured a long-running story arc involving a pathetically effeminate male character, played by popular contortionist Doug Jones, who eventually transforms into a powerfully assertive and masculine version of himself. The character was then revealed to be gay (and pedo-coded) in Season 3, entering into a same-sex relationship with a bizarrely child-like partner.
It remains to be seen if Monarch: Legacy of Monsters will pull out a full-on firehose of unremitting degeneracy or “lightly sprinkle” it into the show. Many viewers may be wondering if Kurt Russel’s unmarried character will also turn out to be gay.

And with that I’m out on this show ..thanks for the heads up . Watched the first one and thought about watching more but..
Another example of this trope is the Gotham series.
After a normal beginning, it turns two non canon characters lesbian. Most notably, Penguin has a gay turn and later has a nonsexual but unnecessary multi episode friendship with a vulnerable child.
The only break from the pattern is, although the characters who are gay switched are some of the most compelling, they are all villains. In the case of Barbara Dean, her heel turn includes the lesbian turn.
I am so disappointed with TV and movies today…also thought Monarch had a good story line and was excited to finally find a family friendly show. Not to be. Episode 5 turns to unnecessary gay and lesbian content. We turned it off and won’t be watching. This is why we don’t subscribe to Apple TV or any other TV/movie app. We give up. Just disgusting.
