Dungeon & Dragons Forgotten Realms Creator Ed Greenwood Bows To Cancel Pig Mob After Getting Attacked For Supporting An Indie Comic

Ed Greenwood, the legendary writer and editor of countless Dungeons & Dragons Forgotten Realms projects, came under fire from a woke cancel pig mob this weekend after retweeting the IndieGoGo projects from Ryan “Word Nerd” Palmer, Hayvard Saints 8. The fantasy writer caved to the mob after receiving backlash for supporting an indie creator with only 32 backers over this writing, marking a new low for the blacklisting behavior of the mainstream industry.

His partnership with Dungeons & Dragons goes back to the 1980s, when TSR was looking for a campaign setting for Advanced Dungeons & Dragons, and Ed Greenwood had a setting he used for his articles in Dragon magazine. Eventually, the Forgotten Realms Campaign set was born, and Ed Greenwood published many novels, novellas, and short stories based on the Dungeons & Dragons campaign setting.

While Ed Greenwood has always been a part of the typical publishing establishment, he hasn’t shied away from spending time with indie creators and fans of his work, making him more beloved than many fantasy writers who often hold themselves on a pedestal above the fans. This led to Ed Greenwood streaming with Ryan “Word Nerd” Palmer on several occasions and befriending the indie comic book creator.

Over the weekend, the Dungeon & Dragons Forgotten Realms creator retweeted Palmer to support his IndieGoGo comic, Hayvard Saints 8, stating, “Try this. “Old school” in the very best way. Took me back to the days I paid ten cents a comic at the local variety store. Only this time, the art is better.”

This spurred controversy among the woke cancel pig mob because the tweet Palmer used to promote his project said, “Back us. This is the book we wanted instead of Snowflake /Safespace, instead of bisexuality Xmen, or Cat and Bat soap operas. For every disappointing gimmick. A chain of letdowns. This is what we expected from the best, but it’s from us, FOR US…”

The cancel pig woke mob then took to harassing Ed Greenwood as “anti-LGBTQ” because of the quick reference to recent X-Men comics turning characters gay in Palmer’s post. While most fans are opposed to the homofication of beloved characters, and sales have been on a decline because of this fact, there are still mainstream shills out there who will pounce on anyone who violates the mainstream access media narrative, even someone as revered as Ed Greenwood promoting a small comic project.

Unfortunately, Ed Greenwood apologized, and the Dungeons & Dragons author wrote a lengthy rant on X, along with an accompanying video, bowing to the woke cancel pig mob.

“I want to make it very clear that I am sorry for what occurred earlier. I want EVERYONE to feel safe and included, and I did not mean to cause any harm with my haste and negligence when promoting that tweet. Representation is so important and I want to be an ally to that ideal,” Ed Greenwood tweeted.

“It’s come to my attention that I retweeted something earlier today that was harmful and offensive. We all share one planet, and there is NO place for homophobia or anti-inclusivity or even name-calling,” the Dungeons & Dragons writer continued.

“I should have read the tweet before reposting it, and that’s on me. For that, and the hurt the tweet has caused, I’m deeply sorry. I reviewed the script of the first issue of a future comic book back when COVID hit, then wrote a foreword for it, for free. I thought it was a good story at the time, and I was pleased to see it was finally coming out, so I quickly retweeted it without paying proper attention,” Ed Greenwood equivocated.

“However, I am NOT okay with LGBTQIA+ people being attacked, or for that matter ANYONE who feels left out or othered. Storytelling often explores violence and important moral choices, but safe spaces are important. I have always considered myself supportive of everyone being treated with the same respect and feeling represented. I am pro inclusivity. I DON’T want to be associated with ANYONE who can’t get along with people who are different,” the Forgotten Realms author pleaded.

Unfortunately, For Ed Greenwood, it’s not people like Palmer who can’t get along with people or treat others with respect, it’s the cancel mob that opposes Christian values and is trying to erase them from society by demanding people like Ed Greenwood can’t even support a project because the creator has different worldviews than the woke access media.

Whereas Dungeons & Dragons and Forgotten Realms used to be about good fighting against evil, now people have destroyed those settings to appease an ever-diminishing angry online mob, which Ed Greenwood is furthering with his comments.

It’s sad to watch someone with such a pedigree cave to online harassment and disavow a small indie comic book because of politics, but this is what the mainstream does repeatedly, and the creator of Forgotten Realms sold his soul to work with these corporations long ago.

    Sorry, Ed.
    You shouldn’t have caved.
The mob will just eject you later.

They are never satisfied with an apology. It’s never enough. The only real solution is to tell them to go pound sand.

Did a 12 year old write this? Is it the “woke cancel pig mob” or the “cancel pig woke mob”? At least be consistent in your juvenile insults. Also, do some research. Ed has always been “woke”. You’re the people he doesn’t want to be associated with.

Weird how the “F–k your Feeings” mob is moved to a meltdown over a simple apology.
